PAY CUT FOR GOING TO TOILET?

Times are really hard these days! What with fuel, food, and what not going up and up, there never seems to be any good news for us the workers!. Everything going up but not our pay. So what do we do?, yes the only thing that we as fixed waged earners is to cut unnecessary spending and divert our limited resources to more urgent and important needs.

But does it help when employers also start trimming corners to maximize their profitability, and end up eating into our pay packet?. In an absurd factory in the much so called first world country of England, that’s whats happening. Read on…

LONDON (Reuters) - A meat company “Brown Brothers” has been forcing its employees to clock-off every time they want to go to the toilet, and clock-in when they return. And the time spent in the toilet was deducted from their pay? … times must be really hard for this company!

The workers trade union has objected, saying :

"It's outrageous that in 2008 workers should have to endure the indignity of clocking out for toilet breaks as well as other practices which we believe invade their privacy."

"Brown Brothers have refused to change its policy, but the union is demanding that Tesco the UK's largest retailer ensures decent employment standards within its supply chain."

"The workers at Brown Brothers are essentially having their pay stopped for going to the toilet. Tesco must do everything in its power to investigate these practices and put an end to them."

Nobody was immediately available for comment from Brown Brothers.

Hey, I just got a brainstorm. The idea may not be that bad afterall. May the BN government implement this plus also coffee breaks and all other breaks on all its civil servants, starting at the cabinet level!. clock out- clock-in on every break!

Work productivity may improve, with less cost to the public! Pls tell me, should I email this sleeping Buddha?...cheers

MYSTERY OF CROP CIRCLE RIDDLE SOLVED?

Crop circles have ben around for many years. Who makes them and why, still reminds a mystery in most cases, especially the complex ones.

Sceptics think that it’s the work of humans with fondness for figures and a penchant for puzzles.

Believers in extra-terrestrials on the other hand could argue it was made by mathematically-minded aliens on a field trip to Earth.

What ever you believes are, take a look at the picture of this crop circle found recently in A Barbury village. Carved out in a barley field, this 150ft wide patterns of circles a stunning display of ingenuity. Who made it? And why? Its still a riddle to be solved.

Although numerous-individuals have come forward over the years admitting they had been making crop circles, many people still believe the rings are linked with the paranormal or civilizations in far-flung galaxies.

As yet, no one has claimed responsibility for the Barbury Castle circle.

But what it represents was solved by a retired astrophysicist Mike Reed, who saw a photograph of it and made the mathematical link.

He said it is a pictorial representation of the first ten digits of Pi, one of the most fundamental symbols in mathematics.

How it works:

Although it appears complicated at first glance, the puzzle does make perfect sense if approached logically and taken step by step.

The coded image depicts 3.141592654, the first ten digits of Pi. How is it done?

Firstly, the diagram is divided into ten equal sections (a bit like a dartboard, or a cake sliced ten ways) because there are ten staggered edges located at strategic points around the crop circle.

That sets the basic framework. Next, each number in Pi is represented in the diagram by a corresponding number of coloured blocks.

Beginning in the centre with the arrow marked 'Start', the first number, three, is represented by three red blocks from clockwise.

Follow this round and this takes you to the decimal point, which is depicted by a small circle in the barley.

The number after the decimal point is one, represented by one green block.

The same pattern continues for each of the numbers - four purple blocks, one orange, five blue, nine yellow, two purple, six red, five green, then four dark blue, followed by three circles, or dots, acknowledging that Pi is infinite....dailymail

CANNIBAL KILLER WHO ATE VICTIMS- EXECUTED!

TOKYO: Japan on Tuesday executed the notorious serial killer Tsutomu Miyazaki, a fetishist convicted of murdering four little girls and eating some of their bodies, officials said.

Miyazaki, 45, was nicknamed the "killer nerd" for his obsession with sexual cartoons and pornography.

Miyazaki was arrested in July 1989 while trying to take naked pictures of a girl outdoors and the details that emerged from his case stunned Japan.

He confessed to having killed four girls, aged between four and seven, in Tokyo and its suburbs and eating some of the remains of two of them.

Miyazaki mutilated the bodies of the victims, slept next to the corpses and drank their blood.

He sent letters to the media under a woman's name claiming responsibility for the crimes and sent a box containing the remains of a slaughtered girl to her family.

"The atrocious murder of four girls to satisfy his sexual desire leaves no room for leniency," Chief Justice Tokiyasu Fujita said in January 2006 when he upheld his death sentence.

"The crime is cold-blooded and cruel," he said.

When police arrested Miyazaki, they found about 6,000 videotapes, many of which contained horrific footage, at his home in Saitama prefecture, near Tokyo.

During the nearly two-decade judicial process, Miyazaki never uttered a word of remorse to the victims and their families. He cryptically said that a "rat man" – a cartoonish image of which he drew – committed the crimes…CNA

IF SIZE MATTERS TO YOU, AVOID USA!

AIRPORT SCANNERS THAT SHOW YOUR BREAST AND PENIS SIZE!

Next time you're going through airport security be warned that what's in your luggage won't be the only thing guards will be able to see!
New high-tech scanners being tested out in 10 US airports are so efficient that operators can 'see' the breast and penis size of passengers.
Designed to replace the physical pat-downs currently in operation passengers step in to a glass booth which closes around them.
Millimetre waves which go through cloth and identify other materials are then used to make a three-dimensional image of their body beneath their clothes.

The graphic images - clearly showing sexual organs - are then looked at by security officers - in another room.
The Transportation Security Administration say the pictures are not printed stored or transmitted and that 30 of the machines could be installed across the US by the end of 2008.

THE DAY IT RAINED MONEY FROM THE SKY!

Money fell from the sky in Indonesia today... and into the waiting arms of the country's poorest residents.

The mad dash for the cash -which was thrown from a plane in a marketing stunt -left many cut, battered and bruised.

A girl of 13 collapsed and had to be taken to hospital.

The 100million rupiah, or nearly ??6,000, up for grabs amounts to a fortune in the South-East Asian country.

Those who managed to snatch a few notes took home more than they could earn in a month.

The money was dropped by author Tung Desem Waringin as a stunt to promote his book on business motivation.

With the cash bundled in bills of 1,000 and 5,000 rupiah (between 5p and 25p), he set off in the light aircraft to fly over a football stadium in Serang, 40 miles from the capital Jakarta.

Rumours of the stunt had been circulating for at least a day and the stadium was filled with the city's poor.

On the first and second runs, the notes fell 500 yards from the stadium, so the crowds dashed from the ground to scoop up what they could.

On the third run the money fluttered down into the stadium so they all had to scamper back into the arena.'....dailymail

MAN FINDS WOMAN LIVING IN HIS CLOSET

TOKYO, JAPAN - A JAPANESE man puzzled by food mysteriously disappearing from his refrigerator got a shock when he found out a woman had been living in his home for months without permission, police said.

The 57-year-old man living alone - or so he thought - in the western city of Fukuoka installed a security camera and called the police when he saw images of someone walking around his home while he was out.

'We searched the house in the man's presence. We found the woman in the closet,' said a The woman, named as 58-year-old Tatsuko Horikawa, was found in a flat storage space only just big enough for a person to squeeze into lying down.

She had sneaked a mattress and several plastic bottles into the cubby hole, police said, adding that the women had been arrested.

'She told police that she had nowhere to live,' the spokesman said. 'She seems to have lived there for about a year, but not all the time.'

It is unclear how she managed to enter the home undetected. Police suspect she might have been closet-hopping, moving from house to house. -- AFP

20FT GIANT SQUID CAUGHT BY FISHERMAN

Report from mirror:

Fisherman in Australia got more than they bargained for when they hauled up this 20ft long giant squid from the ocean.

The 500lb squid was already dead when it was caught in the trawler's nets on Sunday night in waters more than 1,640ft deep off the south-eastern coast.

The squid was lifted on to a stretcher by 10 men and placed in a storage freezer in the city of Portland. It will be examined by experts later this week before being given to a museum.

Facts on squids:

- The giant squid remains largely a mystery to scientists despite being the biggest invertebrate on Earth. Their inhospitable deep-sea habitat has made them uniquely difficult to study, and almost everything scientists know about them is from carcasses that have washed up on beaches or been hauled in by fishermen.

- The largest of these elusive giants ever found measured 59 feet (18 metres) in length and weighed nearly a ton (900 kg).

- Squid are among the fastest invertebrates on Earth speeding through the water at up to 24mph.

- Research indicates that squid cannot smell, they have no noses.

- Squid eyes are similar to fish eyes. They have no eyelids but control the amount of light coming into the eye by opening and closing their slitted pupil.

- Ever been told you've got Squid eye? It means your eye is all messed up and people can't tell which way or what you are looking at.

DONKEY JAILED FOR ASSAULT!

MIRROR:

Seems as if the law is an ass in southern Mexico after a donkey has been banged up in a human jail for biting and kicking two men near a ranch in Chiapas.

Officer Sinar Gomez said: "Around here, if someone commits a crime they are jailed, no matter who they are."

Police said that it took six men to subdue the buck-teethed bruiser on Sunday after it bit a 63-year-old man in the chest and kicked another man, fracturing the 52-year-old's ankle.

Promising that the assaulting animal will stay locked up until owner Mauro Gutierrez coughs up for the men’s medicals bills, Officer Gomez did not confirm whether he was prepared to wait donkey’s years….WONDER IF PAROLE IS POSSIBLE?

DIVORCED: FOR TRYING TO SEE WIFE’S FACE

The Saudi woman who wants a divorce - because her husband tried to sneak one look at her face after 30 years of marriage

One night last month, that is, when the husband was finally overcome by curiosity and tried to lift his wife's veil as she slept to take a look at her face.

It was an error he is unlikely to be given a chance to repeat for his outraged wife woke up during his sneak peek and is now demanding a divorce.

'After all these years, he tries to commit such a big mistake,' she told Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadh after leaving the house in disbelief.

Many Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia and Iran require women to cover their faces in public but in the privacy of their homes there is no such compulsion.

But always remaining veiled - even in front of your husband - is not an Islamic practice, but a very old tradition practised by a tiny minority of women in remote areas of Gulf countries.

COWS WITH WATERBED AND FLAT SCREEN TV

IF ONLY MY EMPLOYER WAS THIS THOUGHTFUL!

When it comes to comfort, the cows of U.S. farmer Kirk Christie have it all - a new barn, a flat-screen television and waterbeds.

That's because of the dairy farmer's philosophy that a happy cow is a productive cow. More milk means more money, so Christie doesn't mind providing the frills.

"Them cows are my girls," said Christie, who runs a farm near Slater, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) north of Des Moines(Iowa,US). "You ask anybody, I probably think more highly of those cows than I do myself."

The idea is to boost milk production by making the cows more comfortable. Leo Timms, a dairy scientist at Iowa State University, estimates cows with comfortable bedding produce 6 percent more milk daily.

WHAT WILL THEY THINK OF NEXT?......SPA AND SUANA ?

TOURIST SIGN UP TO BE “ROUGHED UP”?

Imagine this, paying tourist dollars to be roughed up.

This is exactly what you get in Lithuania, a new tourist attraction.

This is are the highlights when you sign up for this tour.

YELLED at by an officer with a menacing German shepherd dog. Forced to perform exercises like squatting, running and rolling in a blanket while wearing a gas mask.

The three-hour tour allows visitors to get an idea of what life was like under a totalitarian regime, said Ms Ruta Vanagaite, its producer.

Visitors are treated as prisoners of the KGB, the Soviet secret service. They are made to dress the part in 'fufaika', a quilted cotton jacket worn by prisoners in the Soviet gulag (labour camps).

They have to head four metres underground into the bunker and have to put up with questions and commands barked at them by actors dressed in KGB uniforms. They are also forced to salute the Soviet flag.

The most unpleasant segment of the tour is the part where the entire group is forced to face a wall with their hands up. One male participant is then picked out.

An actor browbeats the hapless individual into confessing that he has stolen from the factory where he works. It's an act of 'anti-Soviet sabotage', he yells.

Lithuania which was occupied by the Soviet Union during World War II, it bore the brunt of a notoriously brutal rule. Some 360,000 Lithuanians were jailed, killed or deported to Siberia and Central Asia during the 1940s and 1950s.

However Visitors do not leave the tour empty-handed. They are 'released' from their prison and allowed to visit a Soviet-style store, and leave with a roll of toilet paper.

Tourist however have to sign a disclaimer saying they risk verbal abuse and will have to perform physical exercise --AFP.

FAT INMATE SUES OVER WEIGHT LOSS

USA:

AN obese inmate awaiting trial for murder is suing authorities after he lost more than 45kg because of the prison food.

Broderick Lloyd Laswell has filed a federal lawsuit which says Benton County Jail in Arkansas doesn't give its inmates enough food after complaining he was down to 140kg after eight months inside.

He is accused, along with another man, of fatally beating and stabbing a man then setting his home on fire.

According to the suit, Mr Laswell weighed 187kg when he was jailed in September, the Associated Press reported.

"On several occasions I have started to do some exercising and my vision went blurry and I felt like I was going to pass out," Mr Laswell said in his lawsuit.

"About an hour after each meal my stomach starts to hurt and growl. I feel hungry again."

He said he should not be losing weight because he did little exercise.

"If we are in a small pod all day (and) do next to nothing for physical exercise, we should not lose weight," the suit said.

"The only reason we lost weight in here is because we are literally being starved to death."

The meals, provided through Aramark Correctional Institution Services averaged 3000 calories a day, jail spokesman Hunter Petray told The Morning News of northwest Arkansas yesterday.

A typical Western diet consists of 2000 to 3000 calories a day.

ONLY IN A TRULY DEMOCRATIC CAN THIS HAPPEN!
