MAKKAL OSAI NEWSPAPER SUSPENDED

HOME MINISTER SYED HAMID ALBAR

has suspended the publication permit of a local
daily tamil newspaper " makkal osai".

according to deputy PM Najib, the decision not
to renew the permit was made by the home ministry and was not discussed in the cabinet.

the reason given was the paper has breached guidelines governing the publication of newspapers.

these guidelines among other things, should not raise sensitive issue that could threaten racial harmony and the country's stability.

looks like the executive powers is showing its ugly head again. dear minister, we have court of law in this country. if you think the paper threaten racial harmony, CHARGE THEM IN COURT!

the least you could do is show transparency, you bring up your case and let the newspaper bring out their case. this way the rakyat can see for them self if what you say is true.

if you win, make them pay for it, its the democratic way. do not insult the intelligence of the rakyat. do not be like our dr mahathir, "ITS MY PREROGATIVE".

MINISTER BE A STATESMAN NOT A POLITICIAN......this way your career will see some life!
