A LOST WATCH AND A WORLD WAR II VETERAN

Can you believe this story?. Imagine losing something in 1941, and mind you not during peaceful times but during world war II, and getting it back in one piece. He must be the luckiest guy on earth. And not to mention the honest people who returned it?... there are indeed some honest blokes in this world after all!....read on mate:

Teddy Bacon, 89, of Tarvin, Cheshire(England), lost his Bulova watch while throwing a line from HMS Repulse to Gibraltar Harbour in 1941,during the war. It accidentally got loose and fell overboard into the deep blue sea and that’s the end of it so thought the veteran of war!

But just in case thought the veteran, he took the trouble to leave his name and address with the harbour master but expected to never see it again.

Mr Bacon said he was "amazed" when he received a parcel with a Gibraltar postcode and his watch inside, a few days ago.

"I told my wife, you unpack it, and you will find out it isn't a present for you," he said.

"Then out came my watch complete with everything, exactly as it had been when it disappeared, after 67 years!

"It's exciting to have an old friend, I won't lose it again."

The American-brand watch, which he was told had been underwater in mud, is still working and telling the time perfectly.

Mr Bacon added: "Remembering what my father said, nothing is lost until you are certain it's left the planet.

"Well it didn't leave the planet, it's back." …..wise words indeed sir! ,,not to mentioned the money to be made from the advertisement rights??.
